LEADERSHIP.... FOLLOWERSHIP!!!

"To succeed. leaders must teach their followers not only how o lead, but more importantly, how to be a good follower..."
Today's follower-leader relationships show that followers want trust and are not motivated by what leaders think they would want, but rather by what each specific follower wants. Followers motivate themselves. (Hughes, 1998).
Leadership is taking the robe of a servant just what Jesus did more than 2,000 years ago. He exemplified what it truly means to be a leader. To be a leader is to be a servant. A servant is to put your shoe on the shoes of others. It means understanding the disposition of another person. Just like in teaching, I can be a leader and in its truest essence, a servant, since I"ll be teaching my students not so much about the content of my lessons but I"ll be imparting to them significant lessons in LIFE! I need to see to it that lessons are taught according to their own experiences and circumstances in life. Thus, to be a leader is to be a servant by heart.
I believe, to be a good follower will make a person a good leader in the future.
